Mario the Magician teaches children the art of magic through making, creating, inventing, imagining. The hour-long class includes live performance time by Mario followed by his guidance in a DIY magic project. It's magic through the eyes of the maker movement!

Part retro, part rock and roll, Mario "the Magician" Marchese is a full-time performer, artist, and inventor who creates his own props. He has performed and taught magic professionally for the past ten years in the NYC area. Mario is known for his dedication to the Maker Movement and STEAM/STEM initiatives and his clever and refreshing integration of DIY electronics and robotics into his performance.

Mario has appeared on Sesame Street and Sprout, and live at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, World Maker Faire New York, the American Museum of Natural History, and FAO Schwarz, among many other wonderful locations. He is also the subject of an award-winning independent documentary film, Building Magic, which is currently making its rounds in the film fest circuit.
