We want our future to be warm enough to love others and innovative enough to be excited about tomorrow. That is why we develop classes that nurture creativity, grit and empathy.

NORY Microschool:

Learning. Uncompromised.

No amount of uncertainty changes the fact that our children continue to grow. Developing and expanding their learning potential is as important as ensuring safety. Not all families have time or expertise to create a reliable educational option that covers school curriculum, enrichment learning, and character development.

NORY Microschool is a schooling option servicing K-3rd grade students. Our 5-student classes are led by exceptionally talented teachers through our innovative curriculum that blends the core academic subjects with NORY's STEM-driven project-based learning experiences.

Our small groups not only effectively control the safety risk but also open up a whole new world of possibilities compared to traditional schools: personalized learning, limitless resources for project-based and experiential learning, and individualized approach in character development.

“What’s going to happen this Fall?”

“How long are schools going to stay open?”

“Is NORY offering any Fall schooling options?”

Core NORY Values

"I just wanted to say how much Alexander loves NORY and loves his teachers. Multiple times on the weekend he said he wishes NORY was only closed one day (of the weekend), so he can go. He also gets little sad on Fridays when it is the last day of the week. Alexander is always very excited about all the projects he works on. Thank you and your staff for giving kids a great environment to learn and be themselves while keeping them safe.

FAQ

Teachers

The most important element of our microschool is the teacher. Compared to a traditional school with large overhead costs, a microschool can allocate a larger portion of tuition to staffing. What does that mean? This guarantees an unparalleled quality of teacher who can deliver personalized attention to a small group of only 5 students.

Curriculum

NORY's renowned project-based, experiential learning approach empowers children to empathize with and address real world issues as proactive changemakers. Academic achievements in literacy, math, science and social studies are tied seamlessly with NORY's STEM and Entrepreneurial learning experiences.

Community

Private groups of 5 students per class will ensure safety while maintaining social interactions. In the Fall of 2020 , we will admit only 10 families through an in-depth interview and assessment process. Families are welcome to form their own cohorts to join our community.

"The experience allowed us to notice more of the unbelievable richness and care to each detail that you dedicate to the development of your students. Half jokingly, my wife and I were considering begging you to open a full time school starting in September ;)"

How to Apply

Our 2020-2021 school year starts on 9/21/2020. The application window is 8/24/2020-9/15/2020. Once the application (application form, and school report form) is submitted, we will contact you to schedule a parent interview and child's play-based assessment.

Our application process has two main goals: 1. to ensure that our commitment to character development and project-based pedagogy is a good fit for your family, and 2. to assess your child's aptitude and developmental level so we don't limit their growth by the birthdate.

1. Parent Interview: You will meet with our admissions director to tell us about your child and ask questions about our school.
2. Play-based assessment: All K-3rd Grade applicants will participate in our play-based assessment. They will engage in age-appropriate activities led by our early admissions director.
