NORY Activities

Is your child inventive? creative? a problem solver?

If you answered yes to any of these characteristics, you have an innovator on your hands, and it just so happens we have the program for you. Your child will spend the day doing what they love and learning while they do it. Young innovators will use their strengths, as well as develop new skills, to program a robot and build circuits and structures. We encourage children to ask "why" and will never answer "just because".

Design Thinking Process

The Design Thinking Process (DTP) is an effective problem-solving tool that uses empathy to analyze the problem from the perspective of an individual affected by the issue area and design relevant solutions. Through our DTP program, children learn to use empathy as a problem solving tool, present and discuss their ideas, and create and iterate solution prototypes.

BUILDER'S ENGINEERING

From electrical engineering to woodworking, NORY's hands-on engineering program teaches a wide range of fundamental skills to become a skilled maker. Each project highlights unique problem solving process such as blueprint modeling and reverse engineering to develop critical thinking skills. Many of our larger-than-life engineering projects call for collaborative efforts which challenge children to take bigger risks and achieve higher level of confidence.

Robot Building

NORY's Robot Building is where technology meets arts and endless creativity for a purposeful invention. NORY's proprietary technology uniquely makes high-tech projects accessible to all age groups. These appropriate high-tech skills complete NORY's old-school engineering, which empowers children to invent practical robots that solve problems of the issue area they are tackling. Experiencing the positive impact of their power creates a lasting impact on their confidence and purpose of learning.

Motion and Matter Physics & Chemistry

Most of holiday programs include at least one exciting science experiments. In this curiosity-filled session, children use the scientific method to test their hypothesis until they complete their mission. This is a great opportunity for children to exercise their inquisitive muscle through a series of questions and discussions with their peers.
