HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

Backed by our unique mission, NORY camp sets out to nurture purposeful changemakers. It starts with strengthening certain core soft skills, or attitudes: empathy, resilience, and inquisitiveness.

Although these core soft skills are not exclusive to robotics, engineering, and science... NORY’s camps use these disciplines to drive excitement, problem-solving, and curiosity. All of our camp themes empower students to take risks and use technology in exciting ways.

FAQ

NORY: NYC
Learn More About NORY Coding

NORY Coding for 8-12 y.o

NORY Masters (8-12 Y.O.) will learn how to program robots and creatively change the core functionality of their projects. They will:

  • Program conditional behavior using tools derived from the MIT-developed coding language, Scratch.
  • Upload unique functionality to their Arduino boards and NORY's proprietary robotic board to operate various sensors and outputs.
  • Create control schemes and scripts for new physical computing robots developed by our NORY's STEM partner, Roborisen.

Our physical computing approach amplifies the effectiveness of the coding learning by allowing children to apply their program to the behavior of their physical robot to observe its real-life impact immediately.

See below for program dates and locations

"Griffin really loved his time at NORY. He told me earlier this week on our way to drop off -- "I never want this week to end!". Engineering is basically his dream come true. I'm so happy we were able to find this for him."

-Serena

"Many thanks. You guys are terrific. I can’t say enough good things about NORY and I am sharing our great experience with all my parent friends."

- Amir

"I just wanted to say how much Alexander loves the program and loves his teachers. Multiple times on the weekend he said he wishes the program was only closed one day (of the weekend), so he can go. He also gets little sad on Fridays when it is the last day of the week. Alexander is always very excited about all the projects he works on. Thank you and your staff for giving kids a great environment to learn and be themselves while keeping them safe."

- Lynn
