Animal Kingdom: Robotic Artists of Zootopia

Congratulations, you’ve been elected the new mayor of NORY Zootopia, a magical city where nature, wildlife, and robotic art all come together. From sunny deserts to icy lands and leafy forests, you’ll design a vibrant city filled with different climates, artistic structures, and imaginative spaces for creatures from all over the world.

As mayor, you won’t just build habitats - you’ll be a robotic artist! You will design epic, art-filled environments, crafting colorful landscapes, towering sculptures, and expressive city features that bring your Animal Kingdom to life. Using art materials and engineering, you’ll create custom robotic animals and moving sculptures that wiggle, react, and adapt to the world you build around them. Throughout the week, your city will grow into a living, breathing masterpiece as animals, art, and motion collide. At the end of the week, we’ll open the gates of NORY Zootopia to celebrate your one-of-a-kind city, showcasing a giant collaborative robotic art mural that unites your robotic creatures and climates from around the globe.

Campers Will:

  • Build animal habitats and climates using various building tools to create deserts, forests, and icy environments.
  • Explore nature and biomimicry by inventing robotic animals and moving sculptures that use motion, light, and reaction to express how animals live and adapt to their environments.
  • Celebrate their Zootopia city by collaborating on a large-scale robotic art mural that brings together animals, climates, and creative structures from around the world.

Our Goal:

Our goal is to help campers see themselves as creative leaders who can blend art, nature, and technology into meaningful experiences. As they design expressive environments and robotic wildlife, campers build confidence in using engineering as a tool for storytelling while developing empathy for how living systems adapt and connect. By the end of the week, children leave with a stronger sense of creative ownership and the understanding that imagination, structure, and care for the natural world can work together in powerful ways that feel uniquely NORY.
