Woodworking NORY-lympics: Building Giant Sports Games!

Welcome to the 2026 NORY-Lympics, a giant, action-packed sporting arena where you’ll design, build, and play new supersized sports every single day! You’ll transform our campsite into a giant team sports arena filled with brand-new, supersized sports games that you designed. Using woodworking and robotics, we’ll build the giant sports equipment to bring these original sports to life, from moving volleyball nets to surprising golf obstacles. You’ll test your ideas by playing the games yourself, noticing what’s fun, what’s tricky, and how engineering can make each game even better. As teams collaborate, the sports will grow bigger and more exciting, preparing for the whole camp to come together to play every game you created. Get hype for the next generation of robotic sports action and high energy celebrations at the NORY-lympics field day!

Campers Will:

• Invent original team sports by imagining how giant wooden and robotic game elements can move, block, spin, or change the rules in exciting ways.
  
• Play-test their supersized sports equipment by using it in action, checking for strength, balance, and stability, and making improvements along the way.
  
• Celebrate at the 2026 NORY-lympics field day as the entire camp comes together to play, try, and cheer for every custom-designed sport.
