"What do you remember when you were 3?"

A very special moment - that you remember after 20 years with a smile. An experience that made you fall in love with what you love. The first achievement that took you to the next level. That's what a NORY camp is.

There are some people that come into your life and leave a lasting impact. It may be a grandparent that helped you discover a hidden passion, a childhood friend that was always ready for an adventure, or a teacher that “just got you”. Together these people have helped shape the person you are today.

That's what a NORY Camp is, one of these defining companions. At our camps, your child will be inspired by instructors, create lasting friendships and push the limits on what they can achieve.

NORY Summer camps provide complimentary lunch service by Little Green Gourmets and shuttle bus service from/to LIC and Midtown East. (Gramercy location only)

But what makes our camp truly special is:

Uncompromising Experiences

1. Our program is carefully designed by NORY’s visionary educators to create an immersive experience that nurtures key soft skills, namely resiliency, creativity and empathy.

2. Our low instructor to student ratio (5:1) allows us to customize activities to each child’s developmental level.

Inspirational Instructors

1. We believe inspiration starts from an authentic emotional connection; we build meaningful relationships with each child.

2. Each of us are genuinely excited, passionate and knowledgeable about the particular activity we are leading.

"My 3 year old daughter loved your camp and we are going to sign up again. Your program is a breath of fresh air. Nothing else has made her excited about learning and she has blossomed since taken your camp."

Jasmine, Mom of 3 years old

"My son came home from camp and told me his day was very very great! We are never able to get much out of him on normal school days, but he was so excited to tell us how he loved building and doing experiments! We will definitely sign him up again!"

2019 NORY Summer in Numbers

In 2019 summer alone, our innovators used 12,000 motors for their endless inventions.

12,000
Motors

3,000
Campers

300
Projects

3,000 innovators created life-long memories at 5 locations . This year, we added 4 additional locations to welcome even more campers.

Every year, we introduce brand new projects that open up a whole new world of inspiration and passion.

Beginning with our very first summer camp, we set out to create an experience that strengthens certain core soft skills: empathy, resilience, and inquisitiveness.

This summer, we are expanding on our mission to help students develop confidence and empathy in an even more meaningful way.

The Purpose

1. How can students learn about bettering the world before they try to invent for their community?

2. How can students understand the needs of their community before understanding the needs of people they don’t know?

3. How can students understand the needs of people they don’t know before they try designing for their peers?

4. How can students design for their peers before understanding their own emotions and desires?

These questions shaped our weekly theme sequence, and we’re excited to see students grow over the course of our camp. We want students to experience a meaningful progression that culminates with them being passionate, confident, and empathetic changemakers.

So is it worth it to sign up if you only attend one week? Absolutely.

Each week will still function as its own unique experience for students, with the goal of teaching soft skills and engineering concepts.

Curious about what each week will look like? Descriptions of each theme can be found in the boxes below!

Backed by our unique mission, NORY summer camp sets out to nurture purposeful changemakers. It starts with strengthening certain core soft-skills, or attitudes: empathy, resilience, and inquisitiveness.

This summer, we are expanding on our mission to help students develop empathy and practice problem-solving in an even more meaningful way.

"The amount of thought that went into preparing all the daily baggies and materials in the weekly boxes - just kudos! Every extra tab, pre-glued item, we just wanted you to know we saw it and appreciate it. As a family with both parents working full time from home, this really allowed the kids to participate independently, solely under supervision of their amazing teachers."

-Kar-Yee

"This was Marcus’s 7th week at Nory and he’s been having a blast. We want to thank everyone at Nory for putting this virtual camp together. Marcus is able to learn so much and have a lot of fun while we were confined to our home this summer."

Coding Schedule

Coding & Game Building

Empower students to dive into the mechanics of coding in a collaborative virtual summer environment. NORY Coding provides students with an outlet to master coding concepts such as variables, functions and events.

Students will approach popular platforms like Roblox, Scratch and mBlock with a fun new angle. They'll be challenged to explore the infinite possibilities that the platform provides by creating their own themes, storylines, objectives, goals and more!

"WHY" Matters

Why NORY Virtual Camp for your child's most memorable summer?

It comes down to the purpose of the projects. If my child builds a robot, what is the purpose of the invention? If my child develops a Roblox game and learns to code, what is the purpose of that learning

Backed by our unique mission, NORY summer camp sets out to nurture purposeful changemakers. It starts with strengthening certain core soft skills, or attitudes: empathy, resilience and inquisitiveness.

Although these core soft skills are not exclusive to robotics, engineering, and science... NORY’s summer camps use these disciplines to drive excitement, problem-solving, and curiosity. All of our weekly summer camp themes empower students to take risks and use technology in exciting ways.
