NORY Privacy Policy

NORY, Inc. ("NORY," "we," "our," or "us") operates nory.co (the "Site") and provides STEM and robotics camp programs for children. Because our programs serve children, protecting family and child privacy is central to how we operate. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By using our Site or enrolling in our programs, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our programs serve children ages 3 to 12. We take the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) seriously.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 online. Enrollment and account information about a child is provided by a parent or legal guardian.
- Verifiable parental consent. When we collect a child's information as part of enrollment (name, age, allergies, medical or dietary needs, emergency contacts, photos taken during camp), we collect it from the enrolling parent or guardian, who consents at the time of registration.
- What we collect about a child and why. We collect only what we need to run a safe program: to place a child in the right age group, keep them safe (allergies, medical notes, authorized pickup), and communicate with parents.
- Parental rights. A parent or guardian may review the personal information we hold about their child, request that we correct or delete it, and refuse further collection or use. To do so, contact us at hello@nory.co.
- No conditioning. We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity.
- Photos and media. We may photograph campers during activities for use in parent newsletters and program updates. With separate opt-in consent obtained at enrollment, we may also use photos for marketing. Parents may opt out of marketing use at any time by emailing hello@nory.co.
If you believe we have collected information from a child without proper parental consent, contact us at hello@nory.co and we will delete it promptly.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Parent/guardian name, email, mailing address, and phone number
- Child's name, age, and program-related details (dietary, medical, allergy, emergency contact, authorized pickup)
- Billing and payment information (processed by our payment provider; see Section 4)
- Information you submit through contact forms, surveys, or when you email or call us
Information collected automatically:
- Device and usage data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site)
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6)
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process enrollment, payments, and deliver our camp programs
- Keep children safe and communicate with parents (daily updates, site director contact, emergencies)
- Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and send service messages
- Send newsletters, program updates, and marketing communications (you can opt out anytime)
- Improve our Site, programs, and services
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or lease customer or camper information to third parties.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed. These include:
- Enrollment/registration platform (Sawyer) to manage sign-ups and camp accounts
- Payment processing handled securely through our enrollment platform (Sawyer) and its payment processor; NORY does not store full payment card numbers
- Email and SMS provider (Mailchimp) to send communications you've consented to
- Advertising partners such as AdRoll for retargeting (see Section 6)
- Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, or to protect the safety of a child, our staff, or the public
We require these providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
5. SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from NORY:
- Consent. By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages from NORY (program updates, reminders, and, if selected, promotional messages).
- Message frequency varies based on your activity and the programs you're enrolled in.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Opt out anytime by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact hello@nory.co / (917) 521-6630.
- We do not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing. Mobile opt-in data is not shared with anyone except the provider that delivers our messages.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, and measure performance. We also use retargeting services, including AdRoll, which use cookies to show NORY ads to previous visitors on other websites. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of AdRoll retargeting via AdRoll's privacy tools.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes. Enrollment and camper records are generally retained for up to seven (7) years to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Marketing contacts are retained until you opt out. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you or your child
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of marketing emails (via the unsubscribe link) and SMS (reply STOP)

9. Security
We maintain physical, procedural, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.
10. Links to Other Websites
Our Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
